ITV has confirmed that the 21st series of I’m A Celebrity will return to the historic Gwrych Castle in North Wales.

With the continuing uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, this was deemed as the safest option.

That means Australia is off the cards for this year.

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV head of entertainment commissioning, said: “We can confirm today that we’ll be returning to Wales for the 2021 series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

“We’ve always said we have contingencies in place for the series if the covid situation continued to bring uncertainty, and after a highly successful run at the castle last year we’re pleased that we can return there. I have no doubt the production team will produce another hugely entertaining series.”

What will change this year?

Ant and Dec confirmed it will be a ‘full series’

Ant and Dec have confirmed that this year’s I’m A Celebrity will be a “full series,” unlike last yer.

In 2020 ITV introduced a weekly highlights episode instead of a live show on Saturdays.

Speaking at the National Television Awards, Dec confirmed: “One thing we will be doing differently this year, we will have a full series.

“We put an advert for the show and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God you saved 2020, I’m A Celebrity is back!’

“But, we got to the end of the first week on Saturday night and, because of Covid protocols, we had to do a highlight show and Oh my God you should have seen our socials.

“They were like, ‘You a******es why would you give us a highlights show on a Saturday night?!'”
