Three leading contenders

Plan Of Attack – De Bromhead/Blackmore

The dream team are back on these shores and this horse is completely unexposed over this longer trip, like Grand National hero Minella Times. He’ll get a lovely racing weight and is handicapped to win a big pot.

Kitty’s Light – Williams/Tudor

This slight but gutsy gelding has proved plenty wrong already this season. He’s spring-heeled his way up the handicap but could still have another big run in him over this stamina-sapping trip.

Enrilo – Nicholls

With Clan Des Obeaux now set for Punchestown, Enrilo will be the Nicholls flag bearer in this heat. He loves this spring ground and is only 5lbs higher for his last win.

Verdict – Very hard to knock Plan Of Attack who should stay this trip no problem

Two who could cause a surprise

Golan Fortune – Middleton/Scudamore

This horse has been crying out for a real test of stamina and he finally gets it. He can improve for it no end with Tom Scudamore a solid jockey booking.

El Presente – Bailey/Bass

His odds have crumbled since Clan Des Obeaux was taken out but he’s still an each-way price. He thrives in this ground and is only 5lbs higher than when winning a similar race at Wincanton.

Verdict – Golan Fortune makes more appeal at much bigger odds
