Manchester United take on Man City in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening.
As opposed to previous years, this season’s semi-final is just one leg due to the condensed nature of this Covid-impacted campaign.
It means the winner on the night will advance to the final, which will be held at Wembley Stadium in April, having been rescheduled from February in an attempt to allow fans the chance to attend.
City are bidding for their fourth Carabao Cup in a row, which would equal a 37-year-old record set by Liverpool, whilst United are looking to win the title for the first time in four years.
Michael Owen, speaking on behalf of Bet Victor, has made his predcition…
“Both Manchester sides are in excellent form ahead of this semi-final clash. Manchester City have been steadily improving week-on-week and their progress continued at the weekend, playing some of their best stuff when defeating Chelsea 3-1.
“Having climbed to second position in the Premier League, Manchester United come into this undefeated in their last 7 matches. Ole Gunnar Solkjaer is aiming for silverware, however, for that to happen his side must end City’s recent dominance in this competition.
Manchester United stretched their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 10 games as they recorded a deserved 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
Goals from Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes got the job done as United kept the pressure up on defending champions and league leaders Liverpool.
United’s next game is against City in the Carabao Cup semi-final in midweek.

“Interestingly, City have failed to score in their last 4 visits to Old Trafford. United should line up with the same side that defeated Aston Villa at the weekend with Dean Henderson the only exception in goal.
“With both sides in such good form, it’s no doubt going to be a tight match. That said, Manchester United have tremendous momentum. I think they’ll have just enough against a City side who may be slightly understrength on the night.”
Prediction: Manchester United 2 Man City 1
