Latest Bristol City next manager odds: Chris Hughton remains favourite as Steven Gerrard odds fall

The search continues for Lee Johnson’s successor at Bristol City, and one man remains the heavy favourite with the bookmakers to take over at Ashton Gate.

The Robins remain in the hunt for a place in the play-offs with just three games left in the Championship season.

The race for the top six remains tight, with seven teams still fighting it out for the last spot as just four points separate Cardiff in sixth and Blackburn in 12th.

And with City still to face Swansea and Preston, they won’t be giving up hope yet that they can force their way into the end-of-season shake-up for a place in the Premier League.

Off the pitch, the Robins are still on the lookout for a new manager after Johnson’s time in charge came to an end earlier this month.

A whole host of names have been linked with the position, but it’s former Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton who has proven to be the standout favourite so far.

The former Brighton and Newcastle United boss is odds-on with both SkyBet and BetVictor, finding himself priced at 8/15 and 4/6 with the two bookmakers respectively.

Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe is second favourite with both bookies at 4/1 and 3/1, while Liverpool legend and current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has seen his price come down with SkyBet, and now sits third favourite at 6/1.

Other notable names in the frame are Dean Holden, Newport County boss Michael Flynn, and former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka.
