6 of the Best – Titanbet’s Russell Yershon

BetITBest‘s Nico Jansen is interested in discovering the best in people. This week it’s Russ Yershon.

Russell Yershon has been working in the sports betting industry for more than 8 years, and specialises in gaming, marketing and operations. He is currently Head of UK Sportsbook for Titanbet, a role he has held since December 2013. Previously he spent 18 months in a similar position at Winner.com.

Best Holiday

This has to be my honeymoon to Miami, Barbados and Grenada in 2009. And I’m not just saying that in case my wife reads this!

Best Album

My favourite album is ‘Bad’ by Michael Jackson, which includes ‘I Just Can’t Stop Loving You’, ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ and ‘Man in the Mirror’. It’s a classic album that I could easily listen to every day. I also don’t mind a bit of ‘Crazy Love’ from Michael Bublé.

ShawshankBest Film

There’s been some great films over the years, including Slumdog Millionaire and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. But I still can’t look past Shawshank Redemption for the best ever – it really is a classic film.

Even 22 years on, you find yourself revelling in Morgan Freeman’s performance and wondering just how Andy Dufresne created such a tunnel and escaped from prison.

Best Sporting Experience

As a big Arsenal fan, I have been treated to so many great experiences, particularly in the golden period between 1998 and 2004. If I had to pick out one, it would be beating Leicester 2-1 at home in May 2004 and finishing the season unbeaten. On a personal level, scoring a goal in a Charity match at the Emirates last year was a great moment.

Best Book

Like most people, I wish I had more time to spend reading. Therefore I’m not a particularly regular book reader, but from the ones I have, I would say ‘Fever Pitch’ by Nick Hornby.

Best Bet

Comply or Die – Grand National 2009. I know it’s a 40 horse race and a bit of a lottery, but I backed it weeks before the race as it had all the right form lines to run well.
